Togdillen MZ 1409
๐ DSB MZ 1409 โ A Legendary Danish Diesel Locomotive
The model is based on the Brawa 232 series locomotive and features a custom-painted Togdillen upper section. For an additional cost, the locomotive can be equipped with a digital decoder.
The DSB MZ class is one of the most iconic diesel locomotive series in Danish railway history. Built by Nohab under license from General Motors, the MZ locomotives were introduced from the late 1960s and quickly became the backbone of heavy passenger and freight services in Denmark. With their powerful GM engines, CoโCoโ wheel arrangement, and robust design, they were capable of handling even the heaviest trains across the country.
The MZ series was delivered in four subseries (MZ IโIV) between 1967 and 1978, and they served reliably for decades. Many of them later found new homes abroad, particularly in Sweden, Norway, and other European countries, where they continued to operate long after their DSB service.
One typical subseries MZ I example is MZ 1409, a locomotive with a long and eventful history.
