Märklin 3077
Märklin 3077
“Rail Zeppelin”
The Märklin 3077 represents one of the most unique and futuristic trains ever built: the legendary German Rail Zeppelin (Schienenzeppelin). Designed by engineer Franz Kruckenberg in 1930, the real Rail Zeppelin was an experimental high-speed railcar powered by a rear-mounted aircraft propeller. Its streamlined, lightweight design enabled it to set a world speed record of 230 km/h (143 mph) on June 21, 1931 — a record for trains that stood for over two decades.
This Märklin model captures the distinctive look of the prototype, including the iconic propeller drive, sleek aluminum body, and characteristic rear-engine layout. The model runs smoothly on Märklin AC track and remains a sought-after collector’s item thanks to its unusual historical significance and eye-catching design
