Märklin 3077
Märklin 3077
“Rail Zeppelin”
The Märklin 3077 represents one of the most unique and futuristic rail vehicles ever built: the legendary German Rail Zeppelin (Schienenzeppelin). Designed by engineer Franz Kruckenberg in 1930, the real Rail Zeppelin was an experimental high-speed railcar powered by a rear-mounted aircraft propeller. Its streamlined, lightweight design enabled it to set a world speed record of 230 km/h (143 mph) on June 21, 1931 — a record for rail vehicles that stood for over two decades.
This Märklin model captures the distinctive look of the prototype, including the iconic propeller drive, sleek aluminum body, and characteristic rear-engine layout. The model runs smoothly on Märklin AC track and remains a sought-after collector’s item thanks to its unusual historical significance and eye-catching design
