🚂The Roco 63483 represents the powerful MXY 103 operated by TÅGAB (Tågåkeriet i Bergslagen AB), one of Sweden’s best-known private railway companies.

Originally built by NOHAB (Nydqvist & Holm AB) in Trollhättan, these classic diesel locomotives are part of the legendary Scandinavian round-nose family inspired by GM design. Known for their reliability, strength, and unmistakable appearance, NOHAB locomotives have become icons of Nordic railway history.

📜 Prototype history

  • Arrived in Helsingør on 25 October 1956
  • Operated in Eastern Denmark (1956–1982)
  • Derailed and overturned on 5 February 1966 in Helsingør
  • On 11 June 1966, involved in an accident with the Alpen-Express near Klarskov:
  • The locomotive derailed
  • 3 passenger coaches were destroyed
  • 4 LJ freight wagons were crushed
  • Fitted with roof rib exhaust modification from 1962
  • Repainted in new design livery in 1981
  • Transferred to Western Denmark in 1983
  • Operated in Western Denmark (1984–1985)
  • Returned to Eastern Denmark (1985–1986)
  • Operated again in Western Denmark (1986–1993)
  • Sold in 1993 for DKK 300,000 to TÅGAB as TMY 103
  • Departed from Helsingør on 29 December 1993
